Stax camp for music is a SNAP!

Registration is under way for Stax Music Academy SNAP! Summer Music Camp.

Students entering third through eighth grades can register for the six-week camp that runs June 5 to July 14.

The camp includes field trips, workshops and instruction in voice, drama, dance and instruments.

It ends with a grand finale student performance and two tickets for the concert are included with enrollment.

Applications are available 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday at the academy, 926 E. McLemore. Space is limited.

Camp hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Full tuition is $870, half of which is due on April 15; and the balance, May 15.

Need-based scholarships are available. About 90 percent of students last summer attended the camp on scholarships that paid 90 percent of the tuition.
